Enclave Matcha Café — Custom Banquette

Cleveland, Ohio (Tremont Neighborhood)

Enclave Matcha Cafe is a new café located in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood, and the owners partnered with Form Construction to design and build a custom banquette for their space. After finding Form Construction through our website, the Enclave team reached out to explore a custom booth option that would match the chairs they had already purchased — while staying on budget and meeting a tight opening timeline.

By designing and fabricating a custom banquette in-house, our team was able to match the existing upholstery and wood stain, meet the café’s turnaround needs, and deliver a finished product that made going custom a better choice than prefabricated seating.

Custom Banquette Design for a New Cleveland Café

For Enclave Matcha Cafe, the goal was a clean, cohesive seating solution tailored to the space. Owner sketches were translated into detailed 3D drawings, guiding a fully custom banquette from design through fabrication and installation.

Owner sketches were developed into detailed 3D and shop drawings to help visualize the final banquette layout and establish precise dimensions, materials, and construction details before fabrication began.

The banquette structure was fabricated in-house, starting with a fully framed wood base built for durability and long-term use in a café environment. Storage space was incorporated beneath the seating for practical, behind-the-scenes use.

After staining and upholstering the banquette to match Enclave’s existing chairs, our team coordinated on-site installation to deliver a finished seating element that integrated seamlessly into the café’s layout.

Matching Existing Chairs with Custom Upholstery & Wood Stain

One of the primary challenges of this project was matching the new banquette to chairs that were already selected for the space. Form Construction sourced and matched both the upholstery and wood stain to ensure the booth felt like a seamless extension of the café’s interior — not an afterthought.

Because the banquette was built from scratch, we were able to fine-tune materials, finishes, and proportions to achieve a cohesive look that would have been difficult to accomplish with off-the-shelf seating.

In-House Fabrication from CNC to Upholstery

This project was fully fabricated by Form Construction, allowing us to control quality, schedule, and cost at every stage.

Our process included:

  • Translating owner sketches into shop-ready drawings
  • CNC-cutting the banquette components
  • Assembling the wood structure
  • Applying stain to match existing furniture
  • Upholstering the banquette in-house

We documented the full build process — from raw CNC-cut parts to the finished upholstered booth — giving the Enclave team transparency and confidence throughout the project.

Built-In Storage Beneath the Banquette Seating

To maximize functionality in the café, the banquette was designed with concealed storage beneath the seat cushions. This provides Enclave Matcha Cafe with practical space to store items like holiday décor and seasonal supplies without sacrificing floor space or aesthetics.

On-Time, On-Budget Installation in Tremont

From fabrication through installation, the Enclave Matcha Cafe banquette was completed on time and within budget. Our team coordinated delivery and install to align with the café’s opening schedule, helping ensure a smooth launch for the new Tremont location.

This project highlights how custom banquette seating can offer better fit, finish, and value than prefabricated options — especially for cafés and restaurants looking to create a polished, intentional guest experience.
